Robots in the workplace: how technology supports our people
A cleaning team consisting entirely of robots? At Vebego, we don't want to think about that. Great work starts with great people. But of course, we also see the advantages of technology. If a robot can make our work easier, that can only be a good thing. That's why our people are testing robots in practice: to discover which technology actually makes their work more enjoyable and easier.
In Switzerland, among other places, Vebego tested cleaning robots in various environments, such as shops, offices and outdoor areas. And what did they find? Many robots already do a good job. At the same time, their effectiveness depends greatly on the environment. Not every robot is suitable for every building.
Developing robots based on practical experience
To ensure that the development of robots is closely aligned with practical applications, our colleagues work closely with developers, manufacturers and customers. We contribute ideas on topics such as navigation and safety functions or integration into our processes. In this way, our practical experience contributes directly to technical development.
Robot colleagues at work
And it doesn't stop at testing. The first “robot colleagues” are already hard at work:
· Vebego was the first cleaning company in the Netherlands to welcome a four-legged humanoid robot that can climb stairs and navigate complex spaces.
· Scrubber-dryer Phantas cleaned 7,100 m² in his first week and works without complaint from 5 a.m. to 9 p.m., much to the delight of his human colleagues!
· Robot SAM disinfects a hospital room in 15 minutes for patients with burns, for whom infection prevention is vital.
· The Cleaning AI-ssistent on cleaning trolleys answers questions from employees in all languages. This makes work easier and more accessible.
People at their best, with technology
As you can see, technology offers plenty of opportunities. By testing robots and other innovations together with our colleagues on the work floor, we keep track of what works and what doesn't. This way, technology remains what we believe it should be: a useful tool. And there remains room for what really gives our work value: commitment, craftsmanship and great people!
